New calibration law

New calibration law from January 1, 2015

With the publication of the implementing regulation for the new calibration law, the previously agreed amendment to the calibration law according to MessEV will come into force on 01.01.2015. This results in some changes for scale operators. Some important ones are mentioned here. TARA Stored weight values for motor vehicles may be used to determine net values only if they were determined immediately before or after the loaded motor vehicle was weighed. (Disable save tare see here) The operator must notify the responsible State Office of Weights and Measures within six weeks if scales are brought into the field. Calibration registration Scales must be registered for calibration at least 10 weeks before the end of the year. If this happens and the Weights and Measures Office cannot perform the verification of the scale, the scale remains calibrated until it can be calibrated with the competent Weights and Measures Office.
